Device Recommendation Agent
The Device Recommendation Agent is Builder Agent's first Agent on stage: once floor plan recognition is complete, simply click the icon highlighted in the red box to invoke it.
What It Can Do
Based on a one-sentence user request combined with spatial understanding, it delivers two outputs:
- Conversational text response: Explains to the user why each device is recommended
- Right-panel device recommendation list: Room × Recommended Device × Model × Recommendation Rationale
What Can the User Say
Describe your spatial needs in one or two sentences. For example:
- "I'd like auto lighting when I get home in the living room, and AC to turn on automatically when it's hot in summer."
- "I need motorised curtain control and smart lighting in the master bedroom."
- "Help me check what security devices are missing in the kitchen."
- "I have a 2-bedroom apartment and want basic smart home coverage throughout."
How It Responds
Based on spatial understanding + user intent, the Agent delivers the best-fit solution in two scenarios:
New Property Scenario (New Build / Complete)
The Agent identifies each room from the floor plan and, combined with the user's request, produces a recommended device list for every room — including model, category, and rationale.
Retrofit Scenario (Existing Devices — AI Identifies the Gaps)
When the home already has some devices, the Agent intelligently identifies what's missing and proposes a phased upgrade path:
-
See what's already there: The Agent reads the existing devices and presents the current configuration
-
User describes what they want: The user enters their upgrade goals ("I'd like a 'leaving home' mode", "I want voice-controlled lighting in the study"…)
-
Agent analyses the gaps: Combined with existing devices and the user's goals, it reasons through what gaps exist and why
-
Smart completion results: Outputs a phased device completion plan (Foundation → Enhanced → Complete)
The core value of the Device Recommendation Agent: it doesn't just tell you what to buy — it also explains "why this device," "what's still missing," and "how to fill the gaps step by step."
