Materials

Overview

The Material Library is used to centrally manage and reuse images, icons, and components with custom styles. You can upload images, set components as material (Set widget material), and flexibly apply them on different pages. This greatly improves the efficiency of visual screen building.

Common Properties

All components and materials share the same properties. These include style (such as size, position, color, etc.) and action (such as click event configuration). For details, please refer to Common Properties of Components and Materials.

Material Types

Aqara Studio Material Library supports the following types:

  • Single component material: A single component with adjusted style saved as a material for future reuse.
  • Composite material: A combination of multiple components, images, or icons saved as a single material, making it easy to reuse complex UI quickly.
  • Image: Supported image formats include PNG, JPG, and GIF.
  • Icon: Supported icon formats include PNG, JPG, and GIF.

You can flexibly use each material type as needed to improve building efficiency.

Set Material

Follow the steps below to set a component, image, or icon as material:

  • Set single component material:

    1. On the canvas, right-click a component whose style is adjusted, and select Set widget material from the menu.
    2. Open the Material Library in the right sidebar, and you will find the new material under the Single component material category.
    tip

When you set a component as material, Aqara Studio will only save the style attributes of the current component. Data binding needs to be configured separately afterwards.

  • Set composite material:

    1. Multi-select the components, images, or icons you want to combine on the canvas, and click the Group button in the top toolbar.
    2. Right-click the combined group, select Set widget material, and it will be saved as composite material.
    3. In the Material Library on the right sidebar, you can view the new composite material under the Composite material category.

Upload images and icons

Aqara Studio supports uploading images in common formats like PNG, JPG, and GIF. The maximum size for a single file is 2MB.

To upload:

  1. Open the Material Library in the right sidebar, and switch to the Image or Icon group.
  2. Click the upload button, select the images or icons you want to upload, and confirm to finish the upload. The uploaded files will automatically appear in the corresponding group.
